What's a good ftp program for transferring large files?

I bought Transmit 3, but at the very end, it always stalls and stops. So while it does transfer the file, I have to manually remove it so I can transfer the next file. This only happens with files over ~50 MB. Same goes with every other Mac ftp program I tried except for Cyberduck... which is really slow on my computer.

The only thing that works well is cuteFTP. Does anyone know why this program occurs and how to fix it?

You can just use Terminal and the built-in ftp and sftp programs. That's all I use.

tripletaker, that's a weird problem. I routinely use Transmit for large files with no issues at all. I also find no difference in speed between cyberduck and Transmit.

This, to me, looks more like a connection and/or server issue.

Have you tried an alternate file or is it always the same one that causes the error? It is possible the file you are moving is bad.

I'd also be sure you have ample space to where you are sending the file. You might be hitting a disk quota at your destination or the like.

I regularly move +50mb files and have used multiple apps without issue.

The fact that this occurs on all Mac FTP apps would probably lead most of us to believe it is something other than the FTP app itself.

I think it has to do with the host/server. It doesn't seem to be that reliable. Oh well, that's what I get for going with the cheapest one. Thanks guys... at least I know it's not any ftp program's fault.
