I can't join group chats. I click Accept and it does mothing. I'm using Adium .082 (v.o20).

stupid question - how do you update on osx? do i just replace the old file with new (will that delete settings)? thanks -- just got my iMac like a month ago...

Just replace the old Adium application with the new one. The settings are stored elsewhere (in your ~/Library/Preferences/ folder), so you won't lose any of those.

I updated. It worked once, but not again.
I'm having to use ichat for group chats and adium for trnasfers.

You're using iChat for groups chaps but Adium for transfers?!
Now that's just backwards...

transfers never work for me on adium. Very rarely, anyway. I'd love to see inline image transfers, like ichat. Adium could slam iChat if it could nail down a few little things.
ICQ doesn't work for me. Don't know why.

Inline image transfers are stupid. Why should I see the picture very tiny in the message window? Gives me nothing but a slow iChat while it minimizes the picture.

Should I try deleting the preferences, and re-entering my accounts info? 
Where are they all stored? Maybe I should just use Fire or the official clients.
