Is it possible to selectively import some but not all of the pictures currently on a digital camera into iPhoto? I have searched a lot and haven't found anything except the "all or nothing" import you get when you click "Import."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try Image Capture instead...I believe you can select what you want from there, but not through iPhoto.

Not directly from iPhoto you can't. Workaround:

Plug in camera/memory card.
Open Image Capture (Applications/Image Capture)
Click 'download some'.
Select the photos you wish to download.
Choose a folder to download to, from the toolbar 'Download folder'
Click Download.
Delete photos if necessary.
Drag folder with images into iPhoto. The folder name will become the Film Roll Name.

Thanks, PurpleGiant.

It hurts my head that THE photo manager in the iLife suite should lack the ability to individually import specified pictures.
