Still fails acid 2 test, so the Webcore being used can't be from the new open source site.

It's the info.plist in /Library/InputManagers/Saft/Saft.bundle (you have to ctrl-click and "Show Package Contents" of said file to get to it. You just add a new key with Safari 2.0.1's build number, save, and relaunch Safari. It works at least as far as tab auto-saving and dragging go.. But I haven't done any particulary thorough testing.
If my instructions were too vague, holler at me and I'll write 'em step by step.

I did this the last time with SAFT and it worked, I don't know why I forgot to do it again. Works fine here.

The one good thing I noticed is that Safari has once again learned how to remember it's window position between uses. That bugged the living daylights out of me before... but so far it seems to be remembering quite nicely... haha.

Yeah, looks like that might be so.
Other than that, I've no idea just what's changed, but it's functioning fine.

Safari seems to remove real player files in the download manager immediatly after they are opened in the player. IIRC, real files before 2.0.1 were not treated as "secured" files, hence not automatically opened. I'm not sure on this one, though.
Well, at least one possible new feature.
Edit : it looks more like a bug on my system. Whichever file I download gets erased from the download list immediatly after the download is finished. Weird.

Has anybody else noticed that download speeds are er...down! Almost immediately prior to the update, and I mean minutes, individual download speeds were up to 114KB/s on my 2Gbit broadband off a specific server. Immediately after the update (and why the hell should the computer require a restart, this isn't Windows for crying out loud!) speeds are down to about 35KB/s. What gives?

Since 10.4.1 (or there abouts), when accessing Bookmark Bar items, I have not been able to use the keyboard shortcut Command+numbers on the keypad, but had to use the Command+numbers below the F keys.
Safari 2.0.1 fixed this problem for me, finally!

It did install a new system framework. I suppose it'd be possible to just quit all the applications using WebKit, but I'm guessing they decided that rebooting would be easier/less confusing (or maybe just easier for them).

Have you checked your preferences? "Remove upon download"?

2.01 no longer chugs and sputters and delays on the NY TImes site, and some others. That's a relief.

That is a feature of "Private Browsing". Look in Safari menu item to see if it is enabled.

Safari used to beachball every time it loaded a page on newegg. with 2.0.1, it still does, but it doesn't last as long, and occasionally it won't do it at all. still, i'm sticking with firefox for newegg browsing (same with ebay for me)

Does it still display white text on a dark background like shiat? Or is that a problem only I seem to be having.
