I am a designer who just purchased Freeway today and am putting together a simple site. I love the software but am having a (sort of silly) problem I cannot find in the documentation.
I am only doing simple roll overs on the nav bar and while they work, the other graphics that compose the page keep setting off the overstate, rather than just the area I want to be the active rollover. The tutorial simply shows a button on a page with no other graphics, so it works fine. My settings are the same but the other graphics confound it. It is probably something dreadfully simple that I am missing. Has anyone else experienced this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It is great to be working with web software where I can actually paste graphics from Illustrator (which I am constantly using) it is like a dream come true to be able to do that alone.
Thanks folks- Russ

I've been messing with things like this recently.
In the Actions window (and under the rollover tab), click the little "Show Graphic Parameters for this Action" button and make sure that overlapping elements on your page are checked or unchecked as appropriate for your rollover.
If you have several stacked items (like 2 rollover elements on top of a graphic item on the page), maybe consider assigning your rollover items to layers if you're not already - I went this route for a recent project and it worked for me.
Hopefully this helps - maybe a more experienced Freeway user will chime in.

Thanks for the post Briareus, I do indeed have a rollover that is placed on top of another placed graphic (the background of my navigation bar) and unfortuntly it is still doing the same thing after the rollover items being placed on a layer and all beneath being locked.
I hope there is a solution for this or the ability to use rollovers anywhere than on a plain white background is severaly hamered. This surely can't be the case??
Thanks to anyone who can help me...
cheers- magichammer

Just an update for those following the thread..
I did find a Softpress Knowledgebase tutorial to my question- it consists of making the overlapped graphics into layers and unchecking the "combine graphics" toggle in the inspector's Export Panel Tab. (Freeway "combines" placed graphics when it publishes) However there are still some problems. My rollover graphic looks mangeled in the preview, most of the other graphics are distorted in the Safari preview and when I use this technique with a placed graphic for my rollover- as opposed to using Freeway native text-, the roller works correctly but leaves a white window where the placed graphic is when not in it's overstate.
I still think Freeway has a lot of potential but anything other than for an extremely simple site, roll overs seem to be not quite as easy as I had first hoped. In fairness though, I did purchase the Navigation add on pack and I am hoping that will offer a better solution when I have time to go through it. For now, I am on a deadline and the first phase of this site will probably be published with no rollovers.
When I am finished with it, I'll post a link to the site I am working on for anyone who would like to see where I was having problems. As always, any input is greatly appreciated.
Cheers- Magic

In my limited experience, distorted graphics when previewed in Safari are rectified by emptying the browser cache before invoking Preview in Browser from Freeway.
Not sure about your white window/placed graphic problem, unfortunately.
If you want to see a couple rudimentary examples, I used the nav pack on this site and layered rollover graphic text over a background graphic on this site without problems.
