Hey all,

Been using itunes forever. Today I came across an odd bug and I'm not sure what to do about it.

I have some compilation albums and the tracks all say "various artists" for the artist entry. I find this annoying, since I like to easily search by artist when I'm in the mood for something or want to make a compilation.

So I open up the information menu, type in the specific artist name, and smile as 30 songs are now labeled correctly.

Or are they?

I'm listening to the compilation and every time itunes comes across one of the tracks whose info I've edited, it gets swapped back to say "various artists"!

What's up with that? How can I disable this strange overwrite?

Thanks.

I have a similar issue. iTunes keeps ignoring my changes to certain songs and resets the Genres to previous state. Hate it. Can't figure it out...

It's not a prefs issue...

If you get any info please let me/us know.

best,
KM

The very same has happend to me. I got rid of the problem by marking all songs and advanced, convert selection to mp3

You will now create some new mp3 files and when you are done just delete the old file (they are still marked)
So now you can change the info again whit out problems.

Test on just a few songs before you do the lot!

also you will dubble the files for a short while so you might be better of by doing it in sections

Good luck
