I thought my prayers were answered when I saw ESPN Gameplan broadcasts college football games over the internet. From what I can gather, Gameplan ties into the "Motion" technology that ESPN uses to broadcast video clips from their website.

Since I've been using MacOS X & Safari to watch "Motion" video clips I mistakenly assumed that Gameplan would be OS X compatible as well. After I selected the "System Requirements" link from within Gameplan I was disheartened to see no MacOS X support (but relieved to see the "we are working on a MacOS X version" statement).

I'm living in Australia and am going through severe college football withdrawal symptoms. Anyone here have the heads-up on when GAMEPLAN will be OS X compatible? I did email ESPN (it was NOT easy finding their "contact" email address) but have not heard back. Would it be worth having a bunch of MacNN dudes email ESPN about providing Gameplan OS X support quickly?

I used ESPN gameplan to watch college football last year and didn't have any problems (867mhz Tibook with Panther at the time)

Have you tried it this year? What happens when you click on the system requirements link?

Ok, I see what you mean. Don't spend any money because I said this, but I believe you can ignore that system requirements notice. That was there last year and it doesn't look like they've bothered to update it. As long as motion works for other video clips, it will work for the games.

An update for those interested:

I took a chance and purchased ESPN Gameplan and I was very happy to see that my Mac could view the games just fine.

However my joy was shortlived when I was told the most important game I wanted to watch was blacked out in my viewing area. Since I'm living in Australia I knew this had to be a mistake and sure enough, tech support said should be able to watch all USA college football Gameplan games without being blacked out. But since I purchased the Gameplan using a credit card from a USA bank, the Gameplan automatically assumes I'm still living in the US and I'm subject to the blackout restrictions for games close to my credit card billing address.

The solution? Cancel account and re-register using an Aussie Credit card. Not an option in my case.
