Playback freezes system on 7.0.2 Quicktime

	Hi, Recently Quicktime was updated to 7.0.2 via Software update. When I watched a avi movie (compressed and encoded), I realized that the whole system froze after about 4 or 5 seconds of playback!! I had to do a Shift-Command-PowerON to recover my system. Then I tested the same movie in VLC Media Player (0.8.2) and it played effortlessly. I had seen this movie 2 times before and on quicktime player, 7.0.1. So does that mean this update is buggy? Can I revert back to 7.0.1 and wait till 7.0.3? Or can I fix this while staying with 7.0.2? Thanks in advance, Suddha Satta Ray
