Hi

I have a powermac and a powerbook, both running Tiger.

On my powermac i have configured all my mail (accounts, rules etc etc)

i want to have the same structure on my powerbook.

sync with my .mac account doesn't work.

whitch files do i have to copy to get exactly the same mail configurations on my powerbook as on my powermac?

The easiest, but most time consuming way would be to manually create the same structure on both machines..

For one, sync via .Mac should work -- but only for rules, settings and .Mac mail accounts.

If that doesn't, you can still manually copy the whole Mail directory from one machine to the other, copy the Mail preferences in the Prefs folder and then configure Mail to leave e-mails on the server for 2 weeks or so. So if you check mails with another machine, it won't delete mails right away and you can download them again on the other machine.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

There is really no easy way of doing this. At the very best, now with Tiger mail.app all emails are just files, so in theory if you had a good file synch program, it could just move the files that were new or changed over.

That is in theory. Best bet is to have one master file/email and just keep the other one for reference.

.Mac sync does it very well. I keep my mail synced to my PB17 (my main Mac) and the family mini. Plus, you also have access to it via webmail if away from your computer.

I use that at work, even on a peecee, so I have my Safari bookmarks and email with me at any computer.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

I'd go at this another way. I'd put my actual mail on the Powerbook and then make an account on the PowerMac and change the location of the Home folder with Netinfo. I'd connect to the Powerbook and make the location of the Home folder /volumes/PB Drive/users/yourshortaccountname

That way, if you go somewhere you take the PB and your mail. But if you want to use Mail on the PM, you're looking at the exact same folders. No syncing at all.

Why don't you try it and let me know if it works? :-)
