On a G4/433 Powerbook, 10.3.9, the following nit/bug.
After installing SP 2 and launching PowerPoint, I get the alert:
“The following fonts are unavailable on your computer. PowerPoint will replace these fonts with similar fonts or you can reinstall the fonts.”
The 4 fonts listed are MS PGoth plus three [unknown] Asian fonts.
1. I erased the drive and cloned a new/clean copy from a backup.
2. Launching the restored PowerPoint (SP 1) from the backup indicated no such alert.
3. Repaired Permissions, Ran DiskWarrior, and then reinstalled the standalone version of SP 2.
4. Repaired Permissions, Ran DiskWarrior, Zapped PRAM.
5. Shut down & Restarted.
6. Ran the full suite of activities, cache cleaning, etc., form Cocktail.
7. Launching PowerPoint after installing SP 2 again causes the alert.
A review of the Font Book indicates no fonts are disabled.
For me, the problem is repeatable and verifiable. With SP 1, no problem. Install SP 2, problem.
On the plus side, this issue does not exist on my DP/800, 10.4.2
Still, I wonder what, if any, fix there may be?
