Automater Script to rename photos in iphoto

Hi All,

when i transfer images from my camera to iphoto, the file is renamed as img1.jpg, img2.jpg, etc.

is there a automater that will allow me to choose to rename a few photos or the whole library so that whatever is before the .jpeg, i can put in say, smith, and the batch process will rename the photos as smith1.jpg, smith2.jpg, etc. hope i have made myself cleaR

Not after import, but you could do an Automator workflow that copies them from the card, renames them *then* imports them into iPhoto.

Out of curiosity, why does it matter what your photo file names are? Just give the roll a useful name, and name the photos in iPhoto once they're imported.

I was going to broach that, but have learned that when people want to change file names, they want to CHANGE FILE NAMES.
