Hi,

I was just wondering if old versions of software can bought, sold or traded, legitimately.
I was given an old version Quark from a friend but the installer disk is broken. I was thinking of calling Quark to see how to get a replacement, but not sure if this was legit.

thanks for any input.

I think it depends upon the original licences. But I would say that if the old version was used to get an upgrade discount for the version they're currently using, then the old version shouldn't be sold. But if there are no strings on the old version, then yes, it may be sold or given away. I'd have the friend write a letter for you saying that you're the new owner. You ought to be able to present this to Quark.
