I installed the demo and out of the box it seems that only one processor is used.

In iPhoto I'm used to see full size previews of effects like sharpening in real time (Dual 1.25 G4). Now in PS E there is a noticeable lag. Watching top in terminal revealed that only one processor is in use.

I could not find any information/rants/ etc. on this.

Dual processor support has to be written into the app for full advantage (i.e. more than the OS does by itself), it's not something that can be turned on and off.

Right, and since PS Elements is based on PS which is MP aware this came as a complete surprise for me.

I mean, I've read a lot of rants about PS Elements but the fact that it's not MP aware seems nowhere mentioned.
