Is anyone else having problems with Zinio Reader 2.0 when attempting to authorize? Every time I tried authorizing, the status would show "Verifying..." in the Zinio Delivery Manager window followed soonafter by a crash report dialog. I uninstalled and reinstalled it several times with the same result. I'm running OS X Tiger 10.4.2.

It doesn't appear to be a problem if you're upgrading from a previous version and your authorization is intact. I had recently performed an Archive and Install of Tiger to fix some kernel panic problems, which apparently invalidated the Zinio authorization. I hadn't re-authorized prior to installing Zinio Reader 2.0. Luckily, I had a clone of my system from a few months ago from which I was able to retrieve the Zinio Reader 1.4.4 files. I successfully authorized with that version and then successfully upgraded to 2.0. I archived the 1.4.4 files just in case I need to authorize again.

Zinio finally responded to my e-mail and confirmed that the problem is under investigation. They sent me a link to 1.4.4, which I'm posting here in case someone else is in the same predicament.

I THANK YOU. You have saved Zinio from my dislike with their version 2 installer for Tiger and I may just continue subscribing now. They owe it to people like you for helping others by posting this. They should post this issue on their website for those of us having this problem and providing the same link you did. As of today (10/11/2005), they have failed to do this and are still promoting version 2 that must work with many others.
