Well, I'm living in England now, but my .Mac subscription needs renewing on the 11th. Since I no longer have an American bank account, I've convinced my mum to renew for me.

I was thinking that the cheapest option would be to order a .Mac box from Amazon, send it to my mum, have her open the thing and get the activation code and voila - cheaper renewal and I take advantage of the lovely exchange rate.

Since I have one extra e-mail account (my mum's), I'm assuming I enter the code and then still owe USD$10 or so?

Isn't the renewal process automatic?, that is how I deal with it, maybe you just need to let Apple know about the new bank account :-/

BTW, I have never received a .Mac box and I have .Mac since day one… did you receive it (the box)?

Can't you change your settings to the UK, then renew using your UK c/card?

Personally, i looked at ebay a couple of months before and picked up a new boxed version for £20, entrered the code inside the box - sorted, and saved me £40+ [is it £69??]

If the Usa amazon version is cheaper than a Uk renewal, do that, all u need is a code that comes in the box.

I too have 2 extra email only accounts, can I use the box and just still owe the $20 after I enter the code? The amazon version is $79 and apple is $99 so I would save the $20 anyway doing this.
