Hi, I just got the new mac OS, Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger". But I am having some problems withe safari. When I used Panther (Mac OS 10.3), that version of safari, I knew how to post a picture of a thread, but on this new version of safari, there are some changes, and I cannot seem to figure out how to post pics on, any forum, even this one.
Can someone give me a hand?
Thanks, J

In this forum you place the URL of the picture into [img] [/img] tags (the image needs to be hosted elsewhere). There is a button in the advanced message composing thing that facilitates this. The procedure didn't change with Safari versions.
Example:
If you type this
[im g]http://images.apple.com/home/2005/images/ipodnanohand20050907.jpg[/im g]
into the message it will embed the following image:

He said "post a picture of a thread," not in a thread, and how would [ img][ /img] have changed between versions of Safari?
Sorry, OP, but you're going to have to be more specific, because I have no idea what you mean by "post a picture of a thread."

Umm, no guys, sorry. I didn't mean a screen capture, I'm just not very careful when it comes to grammar or spelling. Thanks for your help. Sorry.

Wow. I get it, I have to host the image somewhere first. Aww, I wish I could go back to Panther, it was so much easier.....

/ps3_screen004.jpg is not a valid URL. It's just part of it. You need to host the picture elsewhere then the URL would look something like:
http://www.theserverwhereitishostest..._screen004.jpg
If you don't have your own server to host the image you can use tinypic:
http://www.tinypic.com/
Go to tinypic and click the "Upload" button. Then select the picture on your hard disk. Tinypic will host the picture for you and give you the URL. This url you then put between the [img] [/img] tags here to embed them in a post.

It was the same in Panther. This forum doesn't allow you to attach pictures. They have to be hosted by yourself. That's a rule set up by this forum and it has nothing to do with the operating system or browser you use. It's always been like this here.

And thought it's been said already, I'd like to repeat: This has absolutely nothing to do with which OS or browser you use.

It works EXACTLY THE SAME in Internet Explorer.
You're confused; that much is for sure. What about though eludes me.
