I have iphoto set to open Photoshop Elements when I double-click on a photo. All of a sudden that won't actually open a photo. Dragging a photo from outside iphoto and onto Photoshop Elements also won't work. You can't open anything; you can't even quit the program without force-quitting it. I even tried re-installing PE, just in case that was the problem, and that didn't work either.

Any ideas as to what could be going on, and, more importantly, how to fix this mess?

I did some digging around and realized I'd forgotten a basic tool -- deleting the preferences. I did so, and I'm back in business.

Posting this in case anyone else has a similar problem.
