With the new iTunes whenever I drag a folder of music files into itunes (in the library tab) it imports them and everything, but it creates two of each file in my list. What's with this and how do I fix it?

In iTunes, go to Preferences-->Advanced-->General-->uncheck "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to Library"

"One ticket to Washington, please. I have a date with destiny."

iTunes > preferences. NOt a new feature.

You can also go to iTunes > Edit > Show duplicate tracks to edit the dupes.

I suspect the problem is that a lot of illegally downloaded albums include a playlist file with the ending .m3u.

When you drag the illegally downloaded folder into iTunes, it will add all the songs, and then add the playlist, resulting in duplicate listings of your illegally downloaded music.

Two seconds' worth of thought and you would have been asking yourself how I know about this problem.
