So I have this Casio QV-4000 that always worked fine with iPhoto and Image Capture. But since a time ago iPhoto uses to not mount the camera's memory card. If I connect the Casio via USB, iPhoto opens but the memory card is not shown, Image Capture shows a 'Waiting for the device' dialog forever…

I saw once in the terminal 'top' command that the Mount proccess was eating so much CPU… the computer was like stalled… I just can move the mouse cursor, nothing more… once I disconnected the camera all the mouse clics, windows' movements etc I have tried were done… like all they were stalled cause the memory card mount proccess.

I read at Apple Site that the camera must features Picture Transfer Protocol, but this has been present under Mac OS X since 10.1 I think, so I guess that is not the problem here.

Any advice is welcome.

Little update just to add an image where you can check that Mass Storage eats well over 90 % CPU…
