I would like to download a free program like Divx or similar to it where i can view .avi files and other movie files quicktime won't show. Where can I download a mac compatible program like that?

DivX-QuickTime codec so that QuickTime Player can play them:

(It says it's not compatible with Tiger, but it works fine for me)

I've found that for some DivX files, you need an extra codec for the audio.

It's the AC3 codec, which can be got from http://www.insaneness.com/ac3.html
