let me clarify:

in order for it to be worth it to me to now start using office (word) 2004 instead of my older (faster) word X, this service pack/upgrade would have to make word 2004 a LOT faster

do we know if it does?

thanks again

I've never had any speed issues with Word using Office:2004...however I'm not using giant Word files either, sorry!

I am not sure if the Test Drive version of Office:2004 includes the latest service packs, and if not, if you can download and install them using the Test Drive version. If so, that would be your best bet in finding out if the new service pack makes Word work for you.

I occasionally use very large Word files, and scrolling speed in Word 2004 is horrible even after the Service Pack. However, for most other (smaller) files, I find Word 2004 has improved after the SP.
I do not like those green links and spam.
I do not like them, Sam I am.
