I've been using After Effects for making a slideshow, doing the Ken Burns effect manually for each picture. I know you can do the same with iMovie, although with less control.

Considering rendering times for transitions and outputting the whole thing as a almost perfect quality movie, which is faster?

Say the slideshow has 200 pictures of 3504 by 2336. (and is it better to use smaller pictures for faster rendering?)
