I was wondering if I could keep a second Mac in sync with the main Mac's iPhoto. Can I copy the photo library and photo index file to the second Mac and that's it or is it more complicated? I don't have .Mac so that's not an option. In iTunes it's so simple, I just copy the music folder and import the playlist xml files. Is there an equally simple solution for iPhoto too?

I have two iPhotos. I do most of my camera-related stuff on my PB but I copy the iPhoto Library folder over to the Mac mini since I sync my iPods from their.

You can simply drag it over and replace the folder. I sometimes connect the two via Firewire cable and create a network but found it simpler (and it creates a backup in the interim) to use one of my external drives with a Firewire hub as the middleman.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

So I simply replace ~/Pictures/iPhoto Library and that's it? No other index files I need to replace?

You may want to copy over the iPhoto .plist from ~/Library/Preferences too.
