I have these problems with three songs on iTunes:
The chosen arrangement of a jazz/classical piece is different from the original and this is apparent in neither the text description of the song nor the :30 sample. A whole portion of the piece is gone. It is not a technical glitch, it is a case of artistic differences.
I emailed iTunes and a few days later they replied by giving me a credit. I used the credit to download a different version of the same song. Guess what? The 2nd one had the same portion omitted. Now, what I've noticed is that there are a few versions of the song that are only available by purchasing the whole album and my thinking is that to get the real version of the song I am forced to spend $10.00 rather than the $1 for just the song as it was meant to be enjoyed by the composer.
I am familiar with the song. Very familiar with it. In fact, I don't want to name the song because by so doing some people might recognize me. I don't want anyone to consider me cheap. But a buck is a buck, right?
The second song is Ray Charles' "What'd I Say, Pt. 1." My favorite part of the song is the last part where there's a distinctive rhythm part and then Ray and the Raylettes alternate singing, hey and ho. I suppose it would be called "Pt 2." But for some reason iTunes didn't include it in the catalog at all. I would have bought Pt. 2 when I bought Pt. 1 if it had been available.
The third song has a pretty lengthy dead air tail on it. After the song is over there is at least 30 seconds of silence. I guess I could edit it if I could figure out how to use Garageband or free ProTools or something, but it's just a nagging little pisser of an annoyance whenever I listen to the song.
Anyone have any solutions or insights or suggestions? I thank you in advance.
edit: I also downloaded the explicit version of Megalomaniac but realized I much prefer the radio-safe version where they bleep out the "F" word.
