Hi All,

I've got 40 PDF forms formatted for US Letter paper size, and I need to convert them to A4 paper size.

What I really want to do is get them into some editable format (heck, even into Word would be great), reformat them and then I can output them to PDF again.

Any suggestions as to how I can pull this off?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Chas

PDF is deliberately not designed as a "roundtrip" format. Either just let Adobe Reader print them out slightly shrunken, or go back to the source files in whatever app they were designed in. WHat you want to do is damned near impossible in any remotely time-effective way.

Professional graphics apps (like Illustrator and FreeHand) can open PDFs, but editability is hit-or-miss depending on how the file was created. Often, there is no way to do it.

Hi tooki,

Yeah, your advice fits. I tried to find a solution with Illustrator before posting here, and I even set up a batch conversion in Photoshop (but of course I can't edit rasterised text, at least not easily).

You're right, the only solution is to get ahold of the original docs, I've got some queries out, but I'm about 6 people removed from whomever wrote them :-/

Thanks again, at least you've saved me from any more useless attempts.

Chas
