I have a semi-large collection of funny/interesting quicktime videos. Political shorts, cartoons, etc.

Should I import them all into iTunes (with automatic import to the iTunes library folder) and play and organize them in iTunes. Is it a good viable video app now? I don't think so, I think iTunes performance in Quicktime tends to be poorer than the Quicktime Player itself and I have a 867mhz g4 so it does make a difference.

I imported my full length ripped movies, that's all.
Everything else is still on iFlicks for me.

iTunes is a poor video performer on a 800 mhz G4. Worse than QT player. And, of course, QT player is not as smooth playing as MPlayer OS X 2.

I wish itunes could use codec plugins to play other video formats, then I could use it to play videos and music.

iTunes performance playing videos is abysmal. I only use iTunes for my music videos and stuff downloaded from the iTMS.

yeah Im not crazy about watching videos in iTunes. The fact that if you want to adjust the size of video window, you have to open it in a totally seperate window, that way you can watch it at a size you like. Just another window to clutter up my limited screen real estate.

No you don't. You can adjust the size of the column and the video resizes with it.
