I had my old 8mm movies put onto a DVD by Ritz Camera. It is not the format that I can import for use with iMovie. What is the easiest and shortest way to convert the format so that I can import? I have downloaded several programs like X Yade, but???directions are not clear. And, I have tried to play the DVD in my DVD player (not my computer's) and then record on mini tape via my Canon ZR 25 mc, no success. Help!!!!

Use handbrake to convert the DVD to a .mov file that can be imported into iMovie.

i think toast 7 can convert it to dv - which is better for editing no? i know i have done this but can't remember exactly how.
