Hello, I'm going to give my Tiger PowerMac to relatives. I would like to remove most of my personal information from the machine but I do not want to reformat/reinstall as I have no backup capabilties, no broadband, no other computers.

I want to give the machine with all our family photos (iPhoto), our iMovie's, some Quicken files and some GarageBand recordings.

I'd like to know what's involved in removing my Mail, my Safari shortcuts and my iTunes music. I've deleted all my mail and mail folders, my shortcuts and deleted all my iTunes music via the applications.

Is that all there is to it or do I have to delete folders?

Is my iTunes info kept on the system such that new songs could be downloaded and charged to me? What about Quicken personal info.

Thanks for the assistance. Robo

Your address is stored in the Address Book, which many apps draw on as a default. Beyond that, just nix the data files and preference files for the apps you want to blank out completely.
