On prior occasions, quitting the button manager for the Canon scanner had cured insomnia on my iMac G5. But this time I cannot find out what is preventing sleep...

Is there a method for finding out? Or the old way of process of elimination? Only thing is, I don't know half of the processes in Activity Monitors report.

Have you quit all running apps? What about removing anything connected externally to the computer. I would make sure you're running the latest version of the Canon scanner software and also update other software you have installed.
