The DVD burner is a Philips inside a LaCie d2 FireWire case. The DVD disc is a TDK DVD+RW (1-4x) 4.7GB, software is Toast 7.01… so I tried to burn some stuff there and got an error… well, I can see that most of the stuff was in fact there, in the DVD disc, but since some stuff was missed in action I choose to erase the DVD disc, since it is rewritable… OK, Toast says it was erased OK… but if I choose "Recorder --> Disc Info…" I can see one 4 GB track…



If I try to burn the stuff 'again' in this rewritable DVD, Toast just ejects it… dialog window says this DVD is not writable… What is going wrong here?

a little more info, I just noticed that even when the DVD disc itself, the case are labeled as TDK, the inner circle says PHILIPS ODTC 1-4X DVD+RW D25051… so, the Philips burner doesn't like a Philips disc ? w-e-i-r-d indeed.

System Profiler says this burner likes DVD+RW, so I am lost about where is the issue here…



Time to trash the DVD disc, though…

Well… I was able to erase and the burn and then erase and the burn -yes, again- this DVD disc with Disk Utility & the Finder. The reason Toast is not able to do it is beyond me. :-/
