So I have made a presentation in keynote 2, and its full of cool transitions and sounds and hyperlinks. It works great... on keynote, but the problem is that I need to take the presentation into school, where they only have windows pcs. All of the export options on keynote have their own problems:
powerpoint: loose most formatting and effects
flash: sound effects dont work, effect very jerky
quicktime: just plain odd -acts differently each time i play the presentation in it
PDF - obvious drawbacks
image - obvious drawbacks
So IS there anyway to get this damned presentation running on those awful windows pcs we have at school?
Any help greatly appreciated

Sadly, the answer is no. You've mentioned the options available and since Keynote is a Mac app, there is nothing available to "run" a Keynote presentation on a PC as far as I'm aware.

I see from your sig that you have an ibook, why can't you take the keyonote presentation with you to school on your ibook and then connect the ibook upto the projectors (I'm assuming that the windows PCs are connected to projectors)?

It's like trying to get a Word doc to look like a Quark/InDesign doc... it's just not going to work.
Keynote has transitions PowerPoint could only dream about. I would go with the Quicktime output or take your own laptop.

O well, cheers for the replies - the reason I cant jus run it off of my laptop is because I have to put the presentation onto a shared area on the network for everyone to have a look at.

Can't you still run the presentation off your laptop and distribute a PDF version to everybody to have a look at? PDF has the advantage that it can be displayed by everybody regardless of computerplatform and the software to display PDF is free.

I agree. I've run 5 presentations of my PowerBook using Keynote 2 and has gotten amazing response and high marks all semester. Run the presentation of your iBook and let everyone see the PDFs.

Hope you WILL provide them with either the pdf or QT on the network AND give them a live demo of the Keynote:
Then they'll be getting a REAL education about the nature of presentation software (and operating systems).

OK the problem is, is that the presentation is actually a 'who wants to be a millionaire' game, full of hyperlinks and sounds etc - hence the reason i cant just hand out pdf's.
But nevermind, I think we have established that thewre is no way of actually doing what i want to do, so thanks for everyones time.
