This is really weird. I close Itunes (quit it) then all of a sudden the icon does the bouncy thing and opens. I close it and it bounces and opens again, without me touching anything. I used to have sharing of my music on but I turned it off and it still does this. It's more weird than anything else but I'm still curious.

Thanks

are you using firefox when this happens? that happened to me once when i was using firefox and had an extension called fancy fox or something like that put an mp3 player at the bottom of the firefox window. it kept opening itunes automatically. i finally just uninstalled that extension and everything went back to normal...

Do you have a widget or something else that might be using AppleScript to communicate with iTunes, open in the background?

I got rid of the standard itunes widget, we'll see if it opens now. And I have Firefox but I don't usually keep it open.

Do you use "SizzlingKeys4iTunes"?
If so, version 1.7.2 has fixed that behavior.
