Automating iTunes (podcast updating)?

I've looked through Automator a little bit, and didn't see anything like 'update podcasts' as an action for iTunes. Is there some way to write a script or action to update my podcast subscriptions, then shut down iTunes or my Mac? I'm not very knowledgable about this, in case you can't tell...
