How in the world do you copy a cd? I have made a cd in itunes and want to make many copies to give to my family. But i don't want to burn the cd thru itunes each and every time.
Is there a copy cd program similar to cloneCD for windows. The less i have to boot that darn windows machine the happier i am.
I've tried DiskBlaze but i cant seem to figure out how to do this and the help file and developers site have little help.
Thanks in advance!

There is shareware out there that is cheaper than Toast, such as Disc-o 3.7.2, $20 at:

While on Versiontracker's site you can search for other disc burning software, maybe there is some freeware. I use both Toast and Dragon Burn, the latter is $49.

You can use Disk Utility (located in /Application/Utilities) to create an image of the cd you want to copy and then burn this image as often as you want.
Alternatively, you can use iTunes to burn the tracks to an audio cd.

I don't understand how using something other than iTunes would be more convenient.

Because you have to rip it in iTunes before burning it to CD, thus losing quality. Disk Utility doesn't seem to let you create a DMG of an audio CD. When I click New | Image from Device, that item is greyed out.

I don't get the problem. You made a playlist in iTunes, and burned a CD, right?
Just stick another CD in, select the playlist again, and hit the Burn Disk icon again, until you've got enough CD's. What could be more convenient than that?

Hope I'm not hijacking this thread, but the main question seems to have been answered and I have a related one. I use iTunes to burn copies of my band's CDs for sale. Now I want to add a text or pdf file containing liner notes to the CDs when I burn them. What's the best way to do this? I'm assuming I can't use iTunes because you have to use a blank CD.

You'll probably need Toast, since that will have to be a two-session disc.

You can always change your import settings to AIFF or Lossless so you don't lose quality when you rip it. But I agree with you that there are reasons not to use iTunes. Like if you do what I just mentioned and forget to change back, then go rip a bunch of CDs for personal listening, suddenly you've taken up way more space than you meant to.
Also, if you're copying a CD that's been made with different amounts of silence between tracks, you'll lose that if you rip into iTunes and burn from a playlist.

I found a application that works and is just the right price. FREE!
x-cd-roast
It's a *nix app and you have to use the x11 server but it works great for what i needed to do. Plus you can add cd-text with it.
So thanks for all the help guys!
