Help Setting up Pure-FTPd Server

	I'm having issues setting up Virtual Users. I'm using Pure-FTPd Manager and used the simple setup tool which created the 'ftpvirtual' system account on my machine. Through the Pure-FTPd Manager program, I created several virtual users, but when I try to log in to the server w/ Transit, I continuously get a "failed validation" error. I can, however, successfully connect to the FTP server using my standard system account username/password w/ no problem. Am I missing a step in the setup? Any guidance is appreciated.
