I am having some issues with Mail.app over the last couple weeks and wondering if anyone can help me.
I receive email on a pretty consistent basis throughout the day, both personal and work related. I can usually expect at least a couple messages every hour. Lately however, I began to notice that I wouldn't get an email for a couple hours or so.
So, I would click on the app icon in the dock, and the app would come up. I can click on the "get mail" button and I receive the noise as if no new mail has been found.
Here is where it gets weird. If I then try to quit the application, it won't quit. Almost as if it has hung up... but it will never say "Application not responding..." when right clicking on the dock like a usual hung application. It just pops up with the normal contextual menu. I can tell it to quit a thousand time, a thousand different ways, but it never will.
So then I force quit it and reopen it. Immediately, 10 or so emails pop up!!! What the heck?
I have never seen an issue like this, any help? Seems kinda frustrating to have to force quit mail.app every hour just to check my email.
