I have a number of files that have a sort of 10-second intro. I'd like to remove this intro - the same length from all the files, some 40 of them - without otherwise touching the files by reencoding them or converting the .avi to .mov. Quicktime will let me delete the sequence manually, but only one at a time and it saves only as .mov (I need the .avi because that is what my DVD-player supports). Does anyone have a tool or set of tools to recommend? Freeware if possible, and if I have to compile a Linux port from source it's no big deal.
