I'm trying to burn a VCD using Toast of a bunch of downloaded AVI comedy clips. Its a pretty straightforward operation in Toast... you pick VCD, and drag and drop the files you want and hit burn.

The problem I'm having is when I burn, it switches to PAL format... which from what I gather, doesn't work out too well on this hemisphere's TVs. How can I prevent Toast from switching to PAL?

There's a tickbox to choose NTSC or PAL. Are the clips you have in PAL format? You may need to re-encode them into NTSC with something like ffmpegx.

thanks! I did check the tickbox for NTSC, but it auto-switches to PAL.... so I guess the second part of your suggestion kicks in. I'll check out ffmpegx. Thanks again.
