New Imac G5 owner. Went to CNN to view a video and I need to download WMP which I did for macs,
When the download is complete, it brings up and Excel file and I cannot proceed with the installation. It asks me to choose which application to open the download. Any suggestions? I tried it again to repeat the error so that I could quote it here and this time I downladed something with a .stix extension. Downloaded to my desktop and it did nothing.

This should be under Applications, not iMac. I see you're new, so for future reference watch where you are posting threads.

Other than that, I have no useful information for you.

He meant in the Applications forum. No biggie, but try to read all the forum headers to find the one that BEST fits what you want to post. Without some sort of order like this, we'd have utter chaos and nobody could get anything done.

And I'll move this to the Applications forum.

Thank you. I went to Finder and could not find any stuffit there. Would it be within another folder?

Argh, companies that use Stuffit annoy me. Figures it would be Microsoft.

StuffIt Expander is no longer bundled with the system. You have to download it yourself.

When you finally get that piece of manure installed and working, prepare to be underwhelmed.

1. Not multithreaded. Click on the menu and the file stops playing. Lame.

2. The fast forward, reverse and pause buttons are inoperable.

3. Often, the audio will continue playing while the video stops.

4. Files made for Windows Media Player 10 (the latest for Windows) will not play in the latest Mac OS X version (9).

Other than that, enjoy!
