I have a good deal of music video dvds and I would like to put some of my favorite videos on my PB to take around with me, so I dont have to lug around all my dvds. I know about programs like Mac the Ripper that rips a dvd (or specific chapters like I want) into the files that DVD player reads, but I wanna know if theres any programs that can rip chapters into MOV or MPEG files...or any files that Itunes can play along with all the ones I have downloaded. Also, while Im at it, do you guys know of any software that can take a dvd and rip its audio track out so I can play it on my ipod, all my live dvds id like to listen to without having a dvd player or my comp handy. Thanks everyone
Bill

Testing out handbreak now, works wonders for converting dvd chapters into MP4 files to view on my PB. However, it says that it converts it to MPEG-4 Video/AAC audio but it only rips the MP4 file it seems, which cant run on my Ipod mini...or can it? If not (cant test it, my ipod is 150 miles from me right now) does anyone know any other software to convert to AAC or MP3 from a dvd or a video file? Thanks!

It doesn't "only" rip the MP4 file; the MP4 file is the only expected output of the program. If you want to extract just the audio you'll need to open the MP4 file in QuickTime player and, if you have QuickTime Pro, extract the AAC track and save it separately. There might be other, better, free tools out there to do it; I don't know.
And no, the iPod mini can't play audio from an MP4 file.
