Back in the days before I woke up and got a Mac, I used to use MS Outlook. Outlook allows you to create individual libraries for your messages, and to copy that library onto a disk so it's not on your folder list all the time. Very handy for archiving old messages and then retreiving the HDD space they occupied.

So, how can I do that with Entourage? I have a HUGE folder full of messages I'd like to burn onto one or more DVD's as a backup, and then remove it from my folder list and HDD.

Note that this is an all-or-nothing method. If you want to archive specific folders (but not all mail) just drag them to a window in the Finder. Then delete the folder from Entourage.

You could also use a couple of shareware tools, but I like the simple drag and drop method.

Agreed. MUCH easier to do, and better for filing your data as desired.
