Hi all,
I have a dilemma. I have a 150 GB drive that has 2 partitions on it - Panther and Tiger (I do development and always have to test apps on different OSs, and sometimes require different development environments). The problem is that I want to get an app to repartition the drives because they're allocated 75GB each, but only use something like half that, so I want to squeeze out a third paritition.

All the apps I looked at seem to be good, but have their own sets of problems. What's worse is that for less than the high prices of these apps, I could go to CompUSA and get a 160 GB drive and just do a two-step copy with Carbon Copy Cloner for free.

I'd like to know what actual experience people have had with iPartition, Drive Genius, and Disk Studio. I know that Drive Genius hijacks your mail application if it thinks your serial number is pirated (and what if it isn't and the app made a mistake?). Apps that do that annoy me.

I'd also like to know if these apps are not tied to one Mac after installation - I have more than one I may want to use it on.

Mike

Remember, any partitioning tool has the possibility to destroy your data. Only use them if you do not care about losing it.

You have been warned.
