Does anyone know how I can export all of my pictures from iPhoto '04 and preserve the tags and comments for each picture? (For re-importing at a later time?)
- iMac 3.2Ghz 1TB - MacBook Pro 15" Core i7 2.3Ghz / 256SSD (Work laptop)
- PowerMac G5 - Dual 2.0 Ghz, 3GB, Soundsticks!,
- Lenovo Thinkpad T510 (also a work laptop), Win 7 Enterprise, 8GB, 320GB HDD

The only way the metadata is retained is if you export to CD and then re-import. This is a major deficiency in iPhoto.

I'd agree about it being a major deficency. That may be an understatement. How did THAT get past the project managers.

Just another example of software developers not being in touch with users' needs... happens all too frequently

iPhoto is due for a major overhaul. Hopefully Apple delivers...

As a software developer I totally understand that. That's why I moved into consulting recently ... more customer interaction.

Anyway: When you say "Export to CD" are you talking about the "Burn disk" option (from the share menu?) ???
