If there was an file on an ftp server and it was clicked, it used to just download the file.

In Tiger, it takes ages with a loading dialog and then mounts an ftp drive in the Finder. I wouldn't mind because it means I can sometimes browse the ftp server for other stuff but it won't eject.

I press the eject button 10 times, drag to trash, restart the Finder and it just won't disconnect the server.

I just got the issue today by trying to get this text editor demo program:

http://www.ragtime-online.com/

go to the download section and pick one of the ftp mirrors.

What really bugs me is that it was taking so long to mount the ftp server that I cancelled the connection and picked the http mirror instead so it shouldn't have mounted anyway. Is there a way to force disconnect it?
