Now UpToDate5.1 Exc Bad Access & Kern Protection failure
All other software & hardware on this G4 is running correctly with no problems.

I give up after trying everything I can think of doing. Does anyone have any suggestions??? Comments /help appreciated.

Brief description: Now UpToDate Contact 5.1 fails to launch
Each time reinstalling 5.02 will run successfully on same hardware

Frustrating indeed. I have no clue what is causing it.

G4 933 QuickSilver ran historically versions 4.53 through 5.02 NUTD& Contact successfully under Jaguar, Panther & Tiger. Versions 5.03, 5.04 & 5.1 will install but will not launch with this error:

=================

G4 933 is currently running 10.4.2 Tiger.
Google search on Exc Bad Access & Kern Protection Failure yeilded some ideas.
Makes no difference if Ape Enhancer is off or on.
Some indication of Exc Bad Access was a memory error. Removed DIMMs one at a time (each of 2 512 MB DIMMs) with no success. Ran Memtest412 successfully.

Ran Fix Permissions & Disk Utility on all volumes. NO LUCk.

Some indication of font corruption. Removed all fonts from ~/lib/fonts and the Lib/fonts and still no luck.
I have an Apple installed Adaptec SCSI card 2930CU for old SCSI scanner which some indicated might be involved. Removed that SCSI card and Adaptec SCSI drivers. No luck.

Tried SAFE BOOT. No luck. Tried making new admin account, removed NUTD and reinstalled under new account. No luck.

Removing all pheripherals USB hub but USB keyboard & mouse. NO LUCK.

Have used FileBuddy to find (Contact, UpToDate, Poweron, QuickDay, Quickcontact etc) and remove some items NUTD uninstaller leaves behind. Fresh reinstall 5.1. NO LUCK.

====
What is weird is I have an iMac G4 1.25MHz ilamp model, 256MB RAM also running Tiger 10.4.2. It historically had only version 5.02 NUTD running successfully. This iMac also failed with 5.03 and 5.04 but curiously WILL RUN with 5.1.
====
If Ape Enhancer 1.51 is removed in all permutations of the attempts mentioned above, NUTD 5.1 will still not launch, the crash report simply
still says crash at Thread 0, and skips mention of Ape Enhancer and report is identical with
com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x9075dc6c __CFSocketManager

and rest of crash description.

======
I am fresh out of further ideas to try. I have not reset PRAM or PMU. Might try that.

Thanks for any comments.
