Hi all,

Couldn't find the answer to this in the search, so here's my malfunction:

I have created a couple of certificates for e-mail signing and encryption myself, on a couple of secondary mail accounts, using the self-creation tool in Certificate Assistant in Keychain Access. But Mail doesn't seem to recognize that I have signing and encryption capabilities, even though Address Book does (checkmarks next to those accounts).

Any clues as to why? Or as to how to fix? Does Mail simply not accept self-created certificates? If I have to get more Thawte certs, I will, but I like the idea of generating them myself.

The e-mail addresses match in the certificates and the accounts, BTW.

thanks!

PS - does anyone know whether one can have and select from multiple certificates for a given e-mail address?

The answer would interest me too...

I have my troubles with the combination certified mails (OPAK, *.p7m) + Entourage (= won't display).
Also when I use certified mails + Mail, it will be displayed but Mail claims the sender might be uncertified (= huh?).

(That's in 10.3.9 + Mail 1.3.11)

Regards

Hi Powerbook. Lately I have kinda switched over to using GPG and the Mail plugin. Anyone who is encrypting seems to use PGP. Not a lot of people in my world, actually, either way...
