Hi, I just installed VPC and win xp pro on my laptop. I need a certain program for work, and it does not work on Macintoshes... I have installed it this afternoon on my rev c powerbook (took forever!)

I was wondering how I can go online using the windows environment. To install that particular program, it needs to go online to verify my redemption code. I am online on my powerbook, but the windows environment does not detect my connection...

Sorry for the post if it is a repeat, but I searched this forum and didnt find the help I was looking for... If only Powerbooks were coming out at MacWorld with the whole native pc thing going ... Then I'd be all set. I hate xp specific software

Please help as soon as possible ... I have been trying to get this to work for quite some time, time wasted ..

It's been a while since I installed VPC, but when I installed it everything "just worked." I have no trouble getting online in Windows in VPC. I have shared networking (as opposed to virtual switch) turned on in the preferences. Shared networking means that your PC shares a connection with your Mac. With virtual switch, the Windows "machine" has it's own IP address. For most people, shared networking is best.

You have to install "Virtual PC additions" first if you used a Windows XP CD to install it (rather than the disc image Microsoft provides). Then you can either turn on virtual switch (there's a few kernal panics in that though) or shared networking.

Hmm, How do i get that installed? =(

I can download it onto OS X, but am not able to drop the file into XP...

Any information on how I can get that done? Feel free to ask questions that will help me clarify .
