anyone know a good program to write piano music

So you can write it out note for note on the computer then make a printout when your finished.

Also if it can recognise a keyboard and write down the notes as you play them that would be great.

There are lots of options. If your needs are pretty basic, you can download Finale Notepad for free. Finale offers many other versions. There are also competing products from Gvox and Sibelius. Good luck!
