I have had this problem for years on Mozilla project mail apps. When I try to type a message longer than a couple words, the cursor starts lagging behind the text. If I want to edit, I might as well start over because placing the cursor correctly is near impossible. Even deleting a letter becomes a guessing game.

Is there any workaround for this?

This seemed to happen even before OSX.

Here's a screen capture. Note the cursor is over the final "L" and not beyond it.
