I just upgraded to ilife 6. I imported some home movies into Imovie and then used idvd to burn a dvd. There is no audio on the dvd. Any ideas / solutions?
Much appreciated,
Gotwalp

I am having the exact same problem with the latest iDVD. Everything is fine in iMovie but upon burning the movie the audio track from iMovie are gone! This never happened in the previous version. What is going on?

Help! I need to finish my movie this week!

If you recorded your video in 16-bit and not 12-bit and you're sure that's not the problem here, then check that this is set correctly:

In utilities

Audio MIDI Setup.app

then set

Audio input/Format to 44100.0 Hz

Some programs reset the Audio, & it must be 44100 for iDVD

I found a solution on another forum that refered to Apple support document (sorry I can't find the URL). Essentially, get the movie from iMovie into iDVD. Once there, instead of burning directly onto a DVD, use the File Save As Disk Image. This was even recommended as a way to test your movie. DVD Player should be able to open and play the disk image. Then use Toast to burn the image onto a blank DVD disc. This worked for me.

Apple suggests deleting encoded assets in iDVD, then removing third-party plug-ins from the QuickTime folder in your Library folder. After recreating the movie, I burned the DVD succcessfully with audio. Apple says iDVD uses QuickTime to encode the audio as MPEG2, the standard for DVDs. QT can use the wrong plug-in if there are non-Apple ones present in the QT folder. Here is the Apple technical article: iDVD 6: No audio on finished DVD
